Wedding Ring Profiles

The profile of a wedding ring is its cross-sectional shape. If you were to cut through your ring, the shape you see is its profile. The profile of a ring determines how it fits on your finger. After considering your budget and the metal you want on your ring, the profile is how comfortably the ring will fit on your finger. You don’t a wedding ring that keeps snagging.

  • Flat profile – flat on the inside and flat on the outside. It fits closely to the finger
  • D-profile – flat on the inside and domed shape on the outside. It is not likely to snag
  • Court profile – domed on the inside and domed on the outside. It has no hard edges; it’s also called comfort fit
  • Flat court profile – domed on the inside and flat on the outside. It is also called easy fit
  • Concave profile – rounded interior face
  • Halo profile – completely round or circular profile
