What is your Wedding Dress Length?

This is a question you have to answer personally when it comes to making a choice of the dress length and hemline. The hemline of your wedding dress is the level of the lower edge. Where the hem stops determines the dress length. Your choice will be influenced by, among other things, your figure (as you may have guessed) and the formality of your ceremony. In practice, shorter hemlines are appropriate for informal weddings. But if you have the heart, you can wear whatever you love, irrespective of the type of ceremony. The most important thing is being happy. I have added images to give you a vivid description of what I am talking about.

  • Mini – your wedding dress stops above the knee. This is great for a destination wedding or the non-traditional ceremony. With a mini dress, you can reveal the beauty of your legs and your beautiful pair of shoes
  • Street – hemline falls to just cover the knee
  • Ballerina – hemline falls to just about two inches above the ankles
  • Hi-Lo – hemline reaches the mid-shin/mid-calf in front and reaches the floor at the back. It can extend to an attached train to add more elegance. It will not look good on a petite bride because it will even make her look shorter but not bad for a non-traditional event.
  • Floor – this is a full length hemline which touches the floor or falls 1/2 to 1 1/2 inches from the floor. It is the most popular lengths for traditional white weddings, with just the toe of the shoes showing
  • Tea – hemline falls to the lower part of the calf; stopping just below the knee and above the ankle
